This paper has been presented in a seminar about "Domestic violence and the ways to prevent it" at the forensic medicine department in Damascus university, in cooperation of the Forensic Medicine Institution-Hamburg/Germany. It speaks briefly about three main obstacles: 1- A common and popular understanding of Islam and Christianity different from their essence, it also supports domestic violence which males practice against women. In addition to some legal obstacles that stand against the freedom of civil and social organizations activity in this filed especially Syrian law of associations, and the urgent necessity to circulate this awareness among multimedia administrators who are mostly hesitated about articulating these issues in a good way. Other factors like: the spread of violence education in the area, discrimination against women in institutions and not adopting cognizance through educational curriculums.
